Children's Festival

Last Friday my classmate and I volunteered at Children's Festival. That was so wonderful for me, because I love children and work with them. We met each others in front of KEG restaurant in Granville Island, then we went to Volunteer House. we had to sit there for our volunteer opportunity. while I was waiting for my time, the manager asked for someone can speak Farsi that help someone as translator, yes it's me. I was nervous but I pushed my self to do that. Me and Maryam, one of volunteer, were tour guides for a group of Iranian families. When they scheduled their time for spending time in activity area, we had free time to try other volunteer jobs. I worked with Face Painting group, and made some fake tattoo on children's hand. It was really priceless time for me, because I could make children happy and excited and it's unforgettable for me. You know children want to be same as their parents, for example when I put a fake tattoo on a girl's hand, she asked me that I put a tattoo on her shoulder...!! I was so wondered!! And a boy ask me to put tattoo on his arm...!!!  :D
In my afternoon shift, Olga and I worked with "BICYCLE SPIN ART GROUP". It let children to splash colour on their paper while their paper was spining . The volunteer made children's paper spun with linked it to fixed bicycle!!

Mother's Day Gift!!

I haven't seen my mother for 7 months. I miss her so much and I feel like I want to cry when I think about her.
Any way, few years ago when my father and I decided to buy a gift for Mother's Day, we look around our home and chose something to buy for her that we didn't have at home. We did the same thing for 2 or 3 times but we didn't see real happiness in my mother's ayes. Finally after few years my mother became angry and she said: " It is gift for home,  not for me as mother's day gift."!!!!

Letter for complaint

Dear Ms. Dawson,

We are writing  to complain about the Pizza Day's menu.
As well our children have a great time in this event, it makes us happy too that we don't need to be worry about packing lunch. Although we would appreciate you if you are changing the menu and consider nutrition instead of donuts and drink. We are concern regarding to quantity of sugar that children use whit these foods and drink. We would be delighted if you let us to help you with preparing salad or vegetable dishes or basket of fruits for this event.
Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Sincerely

Volunteer for Childeren's Festival

Dear Volunteer Manager,

Thanks for accepted my request to be volunteer in children's festival.
As some changing in my time of ELSA class, and many of classmate join to this event as a volunteer, I'd like to change my applying time, I'm very pleased that you accept me in Friday, May 31, from 9:00am to 6:00pm. Stanley Park

In last Tuesday I went to a short time trip with my classmates and our teacher. We visited Stanley Park. I heard the name of this park in several time and I passed that  in every travel to North Vancouver or West Vancouver in high speed.. This time was different, I could walk between the tallest and oldest trees that I didn't see before. Our teacher taught many things, about native plants and animals for Canada, to us. I was very thrilled of amazing sight around mine. Living in the city that surrounded whit natural green space is like dream, but we now have this and we should use of these for walk, outdoor exercise and breath new air. In my new life, I understand that I need to spend time in nature time after time. I love this lifestyle.

The Vancouver SUN RUN

Yesterday I did something challenging. My husband and I did Sun Run. It was my first time that ran about 10 K. It was extremely hard. There were enormous number of people. The most interesting of that was the method of separate in people in 6 big groups. I mean that people who had near speed were in same group and last group was for the people that wanted to walk.
My husband runs fast so he was in first group and I was in third groups after him. When I started to run for 15 minuets my husband texted me that he completed the course. I was absolutely amazed. It happened because the number of people was too many that they had to start as smaller groups,it took lots of time.
I was surprise to see the people in different ages.
I'm going to plan do more practises for next year and I hope I'll do it better.

Indoors Skydiving

Everything at my trip to Las Vegas was absolutely superb, but my experience at the Indoors Skydiving was unforgettable. My husband and I with some of our friends tried it as a group. At first, I was extremely scared and wanted to go back. The man who guided us was nice and absolutely brilliant because he understood  me and tried to help me.After that I felt relaxed and did well. As soon as I finished the first round, I couldn't wait for the second round!! I was so excited!!
One of our friends that didn't try it, took some pictures and videos of us. I am looking forward to trying it again and I'm sure that even  for the second time, I will be scared at first!!

Spring Break

Dear Friends,

How are you? I hope you are doing well.
As you know last week we had a long weekend that happened after our "Spring Break". My husband and i went to Bowen Island in Saturday. We took the Horseshoe Bay bus, after that we went to Bowen Island with ferry boat. The weather was very nice. We tried a trailer that turned around the Killarney Lake. I saw many different types of plants and many beautiful view pints. I took some picture that share with you in this blog. Every things was so good.
Also we had a nice and funny picnic whit some of our Iranian friends in Sunday. It was for last day of Norouz Holiday that we called "Sizdah be dar". We went to Whytecliff Park in Horseshoe Bay, and did many things. We danced , played and barbecued together. It was very interesting day.
What about you? Did you do any thing special in Spring Break?

Take care
